The Annual Surrey Children’s Festival inspires young hearts & minds to the greater possibilities & celebrates our rich & diverse cultural heritage though performing & visual arts experience. Children have an incredibly rich arts experience as they take part in the many hands-on activities on site, led by professional artists. The ticketed programming is a national and international selection of the highest calibre of performances for young audiences, bringing inspiration and awe to the residents of Surrey and the surrounding areas.

SURREY TREE LIGHTING FESTIVAL

The City of Surrey will illuminate Central City Plaza on December 1st and light the City’s official Christmas tree at the annual Tree Lighting event presented by Coast Capital Savings. The highlight of this spectacular family event will involve Mayor and Council joining Frosty and Santa as they turn the switch to light the City’s official Christmas tree and kick off the holiday season in Surrey.

Richmond: Summer Fun Nights, July 31, 2012, King George Park

Come down early to nab a spot (don't forget a chair or blanket), purchase treats from the ERCA BBQ tent watch a move (TBC) on the huge outdoor screen. Movie suitable for all ages. 

VIVA Vancouver: June 23 - Sept. 3

VIVA Vancouver is back at Robson Square, Granville Street and various neighbourhoods throughout the city.

Some of the highlights:

Granville Street (between Smithe and Hastings streets) will be transformed into a pedestrian corridor from June 23 to September 3, featuring community events and other unique activations.

Robson Square will become a temporary pedestrian plaza from June 23 to September 3. It will include a unique seating installation called Pop Rocks in mid-July.

Bus routes along Granville and Robson streets will be rerouted during this time period.

Walk Richmond - Richmond Nature Park

Free guided walks for people of all ages. The trail provides an opportunity to encounter plants and animals in bog, forest and pond habitats. The shortest trail is wheelchair accessible.
